Full Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and provide a better user experience. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them).
2. How We Use Cookies
Virtual Buyers Agent Pty Ltd ("VBA") uses cookies to: authenticate your account and keep you securely logged in; remember your preferences and settings; process payments securely through Stripe; analyse how you use our platform to improve features; prevent fraud and ensure security; and provide personalised property recommendations based on your activity.
3. Essential Cookies
Some cookies are strictly necessary for VBA to function. These include authentication cookies (Supabase) that keep you logged in, payment processing cookies (Stripe) that enable secure transactions, and session cookies that maintain your application state. You cannot opt out of essential cookies as they are required for the service to work.
4. Analytics Cookies
We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with VBA. This helps us identify popular features, fix usability issues, and improve the overall experience. PostHog collects anonymised data including pages visited, features used, and time spent on different sections. Analytics cookies can be disabled through your browser settings or our cookie preferences.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use: Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (payment processing), PostHog (analytics), and Vercel (hosting and performance). These third parties have their own privacy policies governing how they use cookies. We recommend reviewing: Supabase Privacy Policy, Stripe Privacy Policy, and PostHog Privacy Policy.
6. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to: view what cookies are stored; delete all or specific cookies; block third-party cookies; block cookies from specific sites; and clear all cookies when you close the browser. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent VBA from functioning correctly.
7. Browser-Specific Instructions
To manage cookies in your browser: Chrome - Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies; Firefox - Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies; Safari - Preferences > Privacy > Cookies; Edge - Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies. You can also use browser extensions for more granular cookie control.
8. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, VBA uses browser local storage and session storage to store: your property comparison selections; recent search filters; UI preferences; and temporary analysis data. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless required for platform functionality.
9. Do Not Track
VBA respects Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals where technically feasible. When DNT is enabled, we will minimise analytics tracking. However, essential cookies required for authentication and payment processing will still function as they are necessary for the service.
10. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of VBA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Third-Party Privacy Policies
Our third-party service providers have their own cookie and privacy policies:
